Types of Therapy
Evidence-based approaches, thoughtfully blended to fit each client.
-
Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) helps you develop a healthier relationship with difficult thoughts and emotions rather than struggling to eliminate them. Instead of letting fear, self-doubt, or painful experiences control your choices, ACT focuses on building psychological flexibility so you can move toward the life you want to live. Together, we'll identify your values, develop mindfulness skills, and learn practical strategies to help you respond to life's challenges with greater resilience, self-compassion, and purpose.
-
Family Systems Therapy recognizes that our relationships and family experiences shape how we think, feel, and interact with others. Even when working with an individual, exploring family dynamics can provide valuable insight into patterns that influence current relationships and emotional well-being. Together, we'll examine these patterns, strengthen healthy boundaries, improve communication, and foster greater understanding so you can create healthier, more fulfilling relationships.
-
Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) is an evidence-based approach that explores the connection between your thoughts, emotions, and behaviors. Sometimes unhelpful thinking patterns can contribute to anxiety, depression, stress, and other emotional difficulties. In therapy, we'll identify these patterns, challenge beliefs that may no longer serve you, and develop practical skills to create healthier ways of thinking and responding. CBT provides tools you can continue using long after therapy ends.
-
Strengths-Based Therapy focuses on identifying and building upon your existing abilities, resilience, and personal resources. Rather than concentrating solely on problems or symptoms, this approach recognizes that everyone has unique strengths that can support growth and healing. Together, we'll uncover your strengths, celebrate your progress, and use those qualities to help you overcome challenges, build confidence, and achieve meaningful goals.
-
Mindfulness-Based Therapy helps you become more aware of your thoughts, emotions, and physical sensations without immediately reacting to them or judging yourself. By learning to stay grounded in the present moment, you can reduce stress, improve emotional regulation, and respond to challenges with greater clarity. Together, we'll incorporate mindfulness practices into therapy to help you build resilience, increase self-awareness, and create a greater sense of balance in your daily life.
-
Person-Centered Therapy is grounded in the belief that you are the expert on your own life. Therapy provides a supportive, accepting, and nonjudgmental environment where you can openly explore your thoughts, feelings, and experiences. Together, we'll build a trusting therapeutic relationship that encourages self-discovery, personal growth, and lasting change while honoring your unique goals, values, and pace.
-
Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) combines acceptance with practical strategies for creating meaningful change. Originally developed to help individuals experiencing intense emotions, DBT has become an effective approach for improving emotional regulation, managing stress, strengthening relationships, and coping with life's challenges. Together, we'll develop skills in mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotion regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness to help you navigate difficult situations with greater confidence and stability.
-
Solution-Focused Therapy emphasizes your strengths, resources, and future goals rather than remaining focused on problems from the past. This collaborative approach helps identify what is already working and builds on those successes to create meaningful, lasting change. Together, we'll establish clear goals, recognize your existing abilities, and develop practical, achievable steps that move you toward the life you want to create.
